Thrills at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The award winning Blackpool Pleasure Beach is one of the ideal family days out with some of the most exciting theme park rides, attractions, and shows.

The UK’s first ever double-launch rollercoaster ICON, propels riders at speeds of up to 85 kilometres per hour during an intense, jaw-dropping two and a half minutes of thrills and spills. The two powerful thrusts of acceleration can only be likened to that felt by Formula 1 drivers.

An amusement park with a unique blend of legendary rides and famous shows which make fun packed days out with the kids. With so much to do you’ll have to split your time between 125 rides and attractions!

There’s Nickelodeon Land and its 12 exciting rides across the fantastic worlds of some of the world’s most popular cartoons, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar Airbender, Dora’s World Voyage, and Rugrats Lost River. There are also family theme park rides for all ages, like Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-O-Matic, Tea Cups, Thompson Carousel, Dodgems, and a super scary Ghost Train.

If you’re after pulse racing action then your inner adventurer can head over to the thrill rides. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is famous for its exhilarating selection of head spinning roller coasters, including the world famous The Big One, the Big Dipper, Infusion, Valhalla and Ice Blast.

Discover the Three Blackpool Piers

Blackpool is home to not one, not two, but three Victorian piers: North Pier, Central Pier and South Pier. Whether you’re looking for live entertainment, amusement rides, arcades, food stalls and games, there is something for everyone.

Each pier has its unique features which make up our seaside heritage, so why not discover all three? Start your stroll at North Pier, our oldest pier of the three and, at your leisure, walk the Golden Mile towards Central Pier and finish at South Pier. The walk from North to South is around 1.6 miles and will take around 35 minutes (excluding the piers). Don’t fancy the walk? Hop onto the tram to take you on a scenic journey along the Golden Mile every 20 minutes in high season.

Enjoy Live Shows and Entertainment

Blackpool hosts some of the Country's best theatre and music events:

  • Catch a musical or variety show at The Grand Theatre or Winter Gardens Opera House Theatre

  • See a concert or comedy night at The Joe Longthorne Theatre (North Pier)

  • Check the Local listings for seasonal festivals and street performances

Spectacular Illuminations (Sept to Jan)

If you're visiting Blackpool between September and January, don't miss the world famous lights:

  • Experience art installations, live music and food stalls along the route

Scenic Day Trips

Blackpool is a great base for exploring beyond the coast:
